Switch Your Checking Account

We've made it simple to switch your checking account to DHCU.

  1. Open your new DHCU checking account. Have your new checks ready. You will need your DHCU account number and routing number for the next steps.

  2. Go to HomeBranch and click sign up/ forgot password then log in. Next, go to HomeBranch BillPay - Info. Click on the link at the bottom of the page and submit the form. Login instructions are sent to your email the next business day.

  3. Stop using your old checking account. Keep your old checking account open until your direct deposit and/or automatic payments take effect and ALL outstanding checks clear.

  4. Change or sign up for Direct Deposit. If you don't have Direct Deposit go to Step 5. Use the attached Direct Deposit/Automatic Payment Request Form to inform your employer or other organizations that you have a new DHCU account number. The form has been filled out using the account and routing numbers from your new DHCU checks.
    For Direct Deposit of Social Security or Government Checks: The fastest way to change the direct deposit of your Social Security benefits is to call:

  5. Change any Automatic Payments If you do not have Automatic Payments; go to Step 6 If you have any monthly payments such as utility or loan payments automatically deducted from your account, you can use the attached Direct Deposit/Automatic Payment Request Form to inform these companies of your new account information.

  6. Close your old account. Once written checks have cleared, your automatic payments and direct deposits have been changed to your new DHCU account number, inform your former financial institution that you wish to close your account.
