About DHCU

It was New Year's Eve 1935 when eight employees of the John Deere Harvester Works joined together for the common cause of helping one another. From the beginning, DHCU Community Credit Union has been supported by a group of people who believed financial services could be provided for members, by members.

With only $40 in assets six decades ago, we were originally chartered to serve the employees of the John Deere Harvester Works Plant and their families.

Today, anyone living or working within a 50 mile radius of the Quad Cities is eligible to join. It just takes an initial share deposit of $5 to open a savings account and become a member. In addition, more than 130 SEGs (Select Employee Groups) provide DHCU Community Credit Union membership as part of their employee benefits package.

While it is true we offer many of the same services available from other financial institutions, unlike them, a credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. Today we offer everything you would expect from a financial institution, from savings and checking accounts to mortgage loans to online banking.

As a member, each time you look to DHCU Community Credit Union for financial services, you're helping yourself by making an investment to the institution you own.
